Red LightUpdated 7 months ago

What is the Red Light?

The red light feature on our PhoneSoap Pro and HomeSoap is a feature integrated into the product design to indicate when a cycle was unsuccessful and needs to be re-run. This light can indicate that the times inside of the PhoneSoap Pro or HomeSoap may need to be readjusted, but a consistent red light can show that there is an internal issue that could require troubleshooting. If you have a consistent red light, please refer to the troubleshooting below to resolve this red light or determine if the unit may need to be sent to our team for repair.

Troubleshooting the Red Light:

Dormant Bulb

The most common cause for this issue is a dormant bulb, which can be fixed by completing  the following steps:

  1. Open your unit, place your phone inside with your flashlight, and close it. Let this run for 10-15 minutes (you can always charge your phone while in there using the USB feature).

  2. If this still does not work, please follow the troubleshooting video below.

Broken/Burnt Out Bulbs

Another potential issue is that one or more bulbs inside your PhoneSoap Pro or HomeSoap are burnt out or broken. We recommend following these steps to identify broken or burnt-out bulbs:

  1. Check your unit for any broken bulbs. This may be as obvious as cracks throughout the bulb or as inconspicuous as a small chip*. The bulbs have natural bubbles formed during their creation, so if you aren't sure if there is a crack, please reach out to our customer service team with a photo; we would be happy to help!

  2. Look for any bulbs that may be burnt out. A burnt-out bulb has gray discoloration on one or both sides of the bulb. Our team is happy to walk you through our warranty process for burnt-out bulbs, so don't hesitate to reach out if you notice any discoloration in the bulbs.

*Since our bulbs are glass, be careful of broken pieces that may cause cuts or injury.

Overheating

Another potential cause for this red light is that the unit is overheating. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot this:

  1. Double-check that your unit is in a well-ventilated area.

  2. Unplug your unit and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  3. Plug your unit back in and run it.

  4. If your unit no longer has the red light, the issue is overheating, and it needs a break.

Power Cord Issue

Sometimes, an issue with the power cord can lead to a red light. We recommend the following steps to troubleshoot this:

  1. Unplug your PhoneSoap from the outlet and move it to a nearby outlet; this often resets the red light issue.

  2. If step 1 is unsuccessful, we suggest purchasing another power cord (if outside the one-year warranty). If you are within one year of the ship date, don't hesitate to contact our CS team via chat and follow the prompts until you get the code for a free power cord!
