My PhoneSoap Won't Turn OnUpdated 6 months ago
If your PhoneSoap is having difficulty turning on, or the light on the top of your PhoneSoap 3 appears dimmer than usual, please refer to the following troubleshooting below:
Dormant Bulbs:
If your unit is not being used frequently, UV bulbs have a tendency to go dormant meaning they need to be re-energized! Sounds silly, but it is a real thing that may effect the lights. So before we set up a return, we suggest you do the following:
Open your unit facing a sunny window for an hour or so, then try 2-3 cycles to see if this recharged your bulbs.
If you have our HomeSoap model, or it is a cloudy day, we recommend shining a flashlight at the top and bottom bulb for 15 minutes each, then running 2-3 cycles to see if this has recharged your bulbs.
Plugged into a Working Socket:
Check out if the socket is the issue first. You would want to make sure if you have it plugged into a socket that is working. Try testing a socket with a lamp or other household items to ensure use.
Plugged in Correctly:
Try checking if the cords are plugged into the correct ends of the unit. The PhoneSoap Pro requires charging from the cord plugged into the “USB-C IN” port only. For the PhoneSoap Go, the power cord should be plugged into the “Power Input” port in the back. This is the same as the PhoneSoap 3, Wireless, HomeSoap, and the AirSoap.
Automatic or Manual Mode:
Make sure if the unit is in the correct mode. If in Manual mode, the PhoneSoap Pro and HomeSoap will only turn on when prompted. If you have further questions, refer to the article on Manual vs Auto modes.
GFCI Outlets:
Double-check if you are plugged into a GFCI outlet. Try to “Reset” the outlet first and then test if the unit will turn on.
If any issues continue, please contact customer service and we’ll troubleshoot with you and send out a replacement or repair unit
