Great question, and the answer is YES! Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers!
UV-C light can be harmful to the eyes, but in the PhoneSoap’s controlled environment, UV-C light effectively and safely sanitizes your cell phone, as well as anything else that fits inside.
PhoneSoap UV-C sanitizers fall under the category of “pesticidal device” as set forth by the EPA. We also ensure that we adhere to all regulations regarding claims and efficacy as set forth by the EPA in relation to pesticidal devices. Does this product produce Ozone?
All of our units are equipped with UV-C light technology, which produces a minor amount of ozone, well below the required limit. Ozone within the chamber remains below .05ppm at all times, which is the OSHA standard for ensuring lung health. Therefore, it is not dangerous!
Is PhoneSoap safe for my phone?
UV light can potentially cause discoloration with continuous, prolonged exposure to lightly pigmented plastics. However, it would take many continuous hours of exposure to have this effect, similar to leaving your phone exposed to the sun over a consistently prolonged duration.
